• Begin with dry hands and face, warm 3 to 4 pumps of oil between your hands.

To accurately answer such a question of, "Where did the Fountain of Youth saying originate from?", you must first look back into ancient and modern day history of humanities obsession with with staying young and beautiful. 

In ancient Greek mythology the Greeks discussed youthfulness and longevity of life, and Aexander the Great searched for it. Approximately 1800 years later, so did Ponce de León, who accompanied Christopher Columbus in a New World Voyage in 1493. Ponce de León received a contract in 1512 from his King to explore and settle an island called Bimini, off the coast of what is now Florida. When he arrived in St. Augustine, it is there where the Spanish conquistador is said to have found the Fountain of Youth.

The Fountain of Youth is also a famous painting (displayed in this article above) by Lucas Cranach the Elder from the year 1546, created not long after Ponce De Leon's voyage to the Florida Keys.
